Weekly Blog Picks
I know I missed last week’s list of blogs because the site was down, so trying to get back on track here. This month was all about Mothers and family and among the topmost important things in a well-run, balanced and happy family is having financial security. That’s a tough thing to accomplish in this world of ours today and it’s getting harder.
Thankfully, we have blogs like Personal Finance Management Guide to give us insights on managing our money in good times and bad. This Friday, the subject of stopping foreclosure is discussed with some sage advice to anyone facing this devastating event.
Another favorite of mine, Sense to Save has great tips on being frugal, and now that she’s expecting, there are a whole series of articles on preparing for a new life. They cover insurance to pay for the birth as well as for the new child, clothing the new baby and setting up college funds for that new child before it’s born!
I followed Debt Free Revolution’s experiment with teaching their teenaged son how to budget his money. They gave him a weekly allowance and he had to buy his own milk and other food items with it. He learned quickly! I wish I had had such sense when my boys were young!
Last but not least is Single Guy Money. This young man has set himself a goal of being mortgage free by May of 2009. Watching how he’s doing it is inspiring and pretty cool!
I hope you enjoy my choices and find new favorites to add to your own list. I just want to reiterate that these blogs are all my personal choices and I have not been asked by any of them to be included in my picks. They’ll find out they’ve been chosen when they see their pingbacks today. As far as I know, none are even readers of this blog!
So, do any of you think I should create a graphic for my choices — they Eye Spy award? I’ve been toying with that in the back of my mind lately, but don’t know how that might go over with you readers or the blogs chosen (some might even not appreciate my choosing them!).
