1. I sure hope not.

I’m optimistic, but we can’t keep going down the same path of credit now, pay later, that’s for sure.

@Paul — yeah, ever the pollyanna I am, but sometimes my depression leaks out and the cartoons of the last couple of days come to the fore. I really and truly want better times for this country and don’t believe it’s as bad as the moguls are trying to paint it. After all, they are holding MORTGAGES which should be backed by PROPERTY and people will always need a place to live and work. So they lose some money on them. They should have kept a better lid on those investors who threw caution and good sense to the wind when they loaned these huge amounts of money to people who didn’t have a prayer of ever paying them back. I’m with the Republicans who say “let Wall Street bankers take their lumps” and with the Democrats who say “help the people who are losing their homes and the market will take care of itself” — what does that make me? A Ron Paul supporter?

  3. I think the economy has been in the toilet for a while now. I don’t see it getting any better anytime soon. Hopefully someone will come up with a way to try and make things better.
