Come my friend let’s sit awhile
We’ll share a joke; We’ll share a smile
And before our visit is marked through
We’ll share what’s new with me; what’s new with you.

Suck It Up America! You Are Still the Home of the Brave!

Ok already, I’ve had enough with the sub-prime mortgage whining already. We’ve now had 4 months of the “poor me” crap and it’s time to suck it up and move on! You get to the point where all this moaning and groaning about how it’s going to get worse before it gets better is like the whole country has come down with mesothelioma for crying out loud! Trust me, America, it’s not life threatening, it’s just a common cold! We’ve weathered it before and lived. We’ll weather this one, too.

Yes, it’s been rough and yes, there is probably more to come, but this country is so rich and so deep in talent, smarts, and work ethic that I know we can pull out of it if we put our minds to it.

The more we worry about what HAS happened, the less we are focusing on moving on and digging out. We keep looking to the government to bail us out — the bubble burst people and the smell is rotting garbage — you don’t leave garbage on your front lawn, you remove it and get out the air freshener. Let’s get to work on that now. Once we’ve got clean up in hand, then we can get on with making sure we don’t leave the door open for it to happen again.

President Bush signing the Economic Stimulus Package billPresident Bush’s economic stimulus package is bull hockey. It’s no more going to make things right than my peeing in the ocean will make a high tide. Don’t be waiting for that hand out to make it all right and happy again.

How did we let this happen? Well, we let a few lazy and greedy folk lure us down a flower strewn path. C’mon — you can’t tell me that you didn’t see it was crazy to borrow more than your house was worth? You can’t tell me that the thought didn’t cross your mind that the bank had lost it’s ever loving mind when they offered to loan you $250,000 on your $180,000 house did you? Fess up now. You let greed and fast talking guys lure you into something you knew in your gut was going to blow up in your face. Suck it up. Pay the piper and let’s get on with life. Ok, so you’re losing your house and what you have invested in it. You took that risk when you signed that paper. I’m sorry for you a little — but only a little. You’re an adult and YOU KNEW BETTER. Now it’s time to act like an adult, take your medicine and start over. It’s hard but you can do it. You did it once and you can do it again.

This is the Home of the Brave, you know.
