@Cindy -- Isn't there anywhere else the driver could take their break that would be out of sight of the stop? I know that if I had just spent 2 hours shopping in Wal-Mart, and had to wait outside with my packages on a hot or rainy day, saw the bus sitting idle across the lot that I would probably schlep across to the waiting bus, too. I would probably assume the driver was waiting for the scheduled time to pull up to the stop but not want to sit in the spot blocking traffic while it waited, not that the driver was taking a scheduled break or lunch.

@Caroline -- yes, there are tons more, but these particular ones not only are personal peeves, but are health hazards as well. I'm sure if asked, the perpetrators of such inconsiderateness would cite not thinking about the next person to come along. I don't think we're brought up to be sloppy, but I do believe there is way more emphasis put on self gratification than self sacrifice these days.

@Daisy - you are a very good kitty! Perhaps your mommie could teach you how to potty in the toilet and thereby eliminate your litter box entirely -- that would save the planet as well as be more hygenic. I have seen videos of kitties who do this and who even flush afterwards. You're such a smart kitty that I'm positive you could learn this.

@Namaste You're right -- it's not COMMON any more -- as I stated above, I believe its because we put more emphasis on teaching our children how to achieve self gratification and not how to give self sacrifice. There are a multitude of reasons to not leave feces in public places not just aesthetic ones either! Even other dogs will eat feces that have been left behind by another, not just rats, and there's probably a far greater danger of such diseases as rabies, distemper, parvovirus and others than from plague (which is actually transmitted by fleas that are on the animals)
