There’s a Ladybug in my tea
I wonder does she think it’s a sea?
Can Ladybugs swim?
Was it just a whim?
That got a Ladybug in my tea.

There’s a Ladybug in my tea
I wonder was it just for me
Or was it the scent of Earl Grey
That enticed her over that way
And put a Ladybug in my tea.
There’s a Ladybug in my tea
I think she’s passed a boundary
As Ladybugs go
She seems quite gung-ho
About being a Ladybug in my tea
Ladybug, Ladybug fly away home
Your house is on fire and your children are gone
All except one and that’s little Ann
For she’s crawled under the frying pan.
Maybe that’s why I have a Ladybug in my tea!

What a surprise to see this fun bit of whimsy here today. And you did the little teacup graphic, too? You have talents you’ve been hiding from us, girl.
Think I’ll go have me some tea!
Yay Ladybirds (we call them Ladybirds in these parts)
Yah Limericks, I’m very happy now!
whenever I hear ladybirds I think of this wonderful song from this wonderful movie

Carol — thank you! Every once in awhile the muse strikes and I must write drivel. I should probably just write it on a piece of paper and toss it, but my mother thinks I’m a poet — must be because my feet are long fellows
And yes, I did the little tea cup — hubby gave me a pen tablet for Christmas and I’ve been playing around with it. Maybe someday I’ll actually be good with it.
Ken– that’s a pretty cool movie trailer. I’ll have to see if I can find the movie somewhere so I can see it all.
