Unlike getting life insurance quotes, getting inspirational quotes is both painless and ultimately free. I thought I would share with you some that have been especially meaningful to me over the course of my life….

Starting with Mark Twain US humorist, novelist, short story author, & wit (1835 – 1910), here are some you might appreciate:

Always acknowledge a fault. This will throw those in authority off their guard and give you an opportunity to commit more.
Be careful about reading health books. You may die of a misprint.
Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society.

Do something every day that you don’t want to do; this is the golden rule for acquiring the habit of doing your duty without pain.

And my all-time favorite of his that is especially applicable today:

Don’t go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.

And moving on to Mr. Groucho Marx, Comedian, actor (1890-1977), some that really tickle my funny bone:

Age is not a particularly interesting subject. Anyone can get old. All you have to do is live long enough.

Military intelligence is a contradiction in terms.

The husband who wants a happy marriage should learn to keep his mouth shut and his checkbook open.

Outside of a dog, a book is man’s best friend. Inside of a dog it’s too dark to read.

I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book.

The world would not be what it is today without the contributions of Sir Winston Churchill (1874 – 1965)

It is a good thing for an uneducated man to read books of quotations.

Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing ever happened.

I like pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals.

A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject.

We got a lot of inspiration from our past presidents. An often overlooked one, but a man with a dry sense of humor and a way with words was Ronald Reagan (1911 – 2004)

Facts are stupid things.

Politics is not a bad profession. If you succeed there are many rewards, if you disgrace yourself you can always write a book.

The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.’

Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.
