My posts are always between 800-1200 words. I don't think I'm losing readers because I am so verbose, but I do edit myself quite heavily so I think it's mostly lean meat in those posts. Like Lyndi, I've read other posts that feel just too short and some that are extremely long winded and would do best to get directly to the point.
