I have been so tied up at work with this project I’m working on that the days have just totally slipped by me!

As I put the finishing touches on it today and dated the last of the scripts for posterity I realized that I don’t have a lot of time left to get my Chrismas shopping done! And when you stop to think that I have two parties that require gifts to go to next week, my shopping days are even more limited than those between now and Christmas Eve, that traditional procrastinators shopping day du jour — or should that be de rigueur?

Anyway…someone thoughtfully left a newspaper complete with ads on the lunchroom table and since I actually took time to eat lunch in there today instead of at my desk with my nose buried in a computer screen, I flipped through the ads.

It seems that Fred’s has some bargains worth looking into but the best ones are at Westgate Mall in Spartanburg.

Now, if you know me, you know that I don’t shop at malls.

I just despise the crowds, the poorly designed parking lots, the traffic (especially this time of year and despite what all the doom-and-gloom prophets are saying, there’s plenty of traffic at our malls!), the Muzak Christmas tunes, the picked over merchandise and the dressing room Nazis. Online shops love to see me on their sites.

But, with not much time and the lure of nice quality stuff at reasonable prices combined with the fact that gas dropped at my local service station today to 1.39/gallon, I guess a trek to Spartanburg isn’t out of the question. It’s just very inconvenient and I’m going to be dragging my feet as I drive that way.

So, along with getting the oil changed in both my car and Ken’s van, getting the tires rotated on both of them, getting my hair cut and taking Max to the vet for a cast change, I’ll get to Christmas shop too. Oh.Joy.Oh.Joy. NOT.
