Safety First

Ken’s taken some steps recently to ensure our safety. No, he hasn’t installed any ademco devices, but he’s signed us up for identity theft protection.
Like anything else, I’m sure that if we took the time and effort, we could do all the same stuff that this company is doing for us, but I’m not sure we have the time or the expertise. Turning it all over to them to handle was easy and it’s not terribly expensive.
We still have to shred stuff and things like that, but I’ve already seen a decrease in the amount of junk mail we’re getting. Pretty soon we should only see the catalogs that come to me because I order stuff on line.
I wish it would do something about the calls we get from some of our credit card companies wanting us to buy credit protection insurance. Those guys just won’t give up and it’s really getting to be irritating!
Anybody know how to get that stopped? We’re on the DNC list, but since we’re existing customers, they can call us and not be in violation. I’m really sick of getting 3-4 calls per week and when they choose a day to call, they’ll call several times until they get one of us (judging from caller id). Getting them to accept a “no” is not easy! I guess I could just start hanging up the phone after the first no, but I was brought up to be polite.
