Ok — this was a recipe I found on the web, but I altered it for several reasons.

#1 — I wanted to use my Harvest Coarse Ground Mustard
#2 — Ken’s diabetic, so cannot have sugar or syrup added to his diet.

1/4 c Harvest Coarse Ground Mustard (from Kraft)
2 TBs Splenda ®
1 TBs Apple Cider Vinegar

Mix in a measuring cup.

Put your ham steak in the frying pan (you can spray the pan with a non-stick coating if you like) and brush on the glaze mix. Cook on medium heat for 10 minutes, turn, brush the other side with the remainder of the mix and cook for another 10 minutes. You could also grill this if you liked, but the weather here isn’t conducive to grilling tonight.

Ham Steak with Mustard Glaze The flavor of this was just outstanding! Although I had some issues with the mustard straight on meat, adding the Splenda ® and vinegar for the glaze took all those issues away. This is a glaze I’ll be making for other meats besides ham!

Ken was especially complimentary on it. The coarse texture of the mustard gave added interest to the dish beyond mere taste. But don’t be fooled by the appearance as it’s not gritty at all! The “lumpy” dissolves on the tongue just leaving a burst of flavor. This mustard is a bit spicy, and that counteracted the sweet of the Splenda ® in a perfect harmony of flavors.

The dogs licked both the frying pan AND our plates clean, so this also has the Whippet/Crested seal of approval
