As promised last week, I’m trying to give y’all a peek into my eclectic tastes in reading by sharing with you the blogs that have had stuff I’ve found particularly interesting this week. So, without further adieu, here’s my list.
1. Art Blog – Caroline Parsons is the talent behind the paintings you’ll see on this blog. She paints in vivid colors with bold brush strokes and renders accurate, but not photographic images of the wildlife she sees around her. Each example of her work on the blog is included with information about the animals or birds she’s painted. It’s at once a trip to Africa and a visual feast. I’ve especially enjoyed the sequence she had with birds since I have such a fascination for them.
2. Turnip of Power – a somewhat acerbic, but incredibly insightful individual who has helped me enormously with his tips and insights into all manner of things. Some of his latest posts deal with the changes and improvements at Entrecard, and by using some of those tips, I’m seeing even better results than before.
3. Holy Cuteness — is a blog that is just photos of these adorable critters! The one yesterday (Naughty Bunny) had me laughing and made me smile the rest of the day. These photos are not just puppies and kittens which we can all agree are cute, but photos of other animals as well (tigers, lions, koala bears, etc). Check it out and be ready to smile.
4. Home Gardening – I will confess to having a black thumb. About the only things I’ve planted that are still alive today are some day lilies. Not the exotic ones I paid a small fortune for either, but the ones I dug up growing wild in a ditch along the side of the road. But I still like to read gardening blogs and magazines. They give me hope that someday, with some perseverance on my part, I MIGHT actually HAVE a garden that has more than Bermuda grass in it. This week author Bill Stanley talked about garden design. Since I have a small space set aside for a garden, this article in particular drew my interest. Hey Bill — can you do a post about keeping Bermuda grass OUT of your garden? I sure could use that information!
So now you know what I’ve been doing this week (besides ranting here that is)
