You know, some things are just plain ugly to look at. They are the acne of the universe; maybe caused by oily thoughts or dirty minds.
What am I talking about now?
I’m talking about unorganized, rambling, no subject blog posts.
It’s like the blog owner just got lost writing their post. Forgot what they wanted to say, had a brain fart, whatever. It’s a waste of everyone’s time — a waste of the blogger’s time writing it and certainly a waste of the readers’ time trying to figure out what in the heck they were trying to say!
Puleeeze — if you ever find one of those on this site, just send me a slap through the mail. Or an ammonia capsule or cup of VERY strong coffee — something to wake me up!
Oh I’m fully aware that not everything blogged about is remotely interesting to everyone; I’m really not talking about INTERESTING posts. But it should be interesting to SOMEONE even if it’s only your sainted mother who is interested in everything about your miserable, wannabe life. (Hi Ma! Love ya!)
No, I’m talking about posts where even the words strung together don’t make any sense at all and go on and on and ON. Maybe they’re a really bad translation to English from another language; I don’t know. They just make my eyes cross and my brain freeze.
What you write about doesn’t even have to be something everyone will agree on — and would probably get you more attention if it wasn’t something everyone could agree on. No, those posts get your juices flowing and your synapses snapping! Some of my most popular posts (I have popular posts???) have been on subjects that are rather divisive by nature. Note to self: write another one of those real soon.
I was reading the EntreCard blog this morning and Graham’s last post in particular where he’s telling us about his latest venture to prove to the world (well at least to EntreCarders) that he can take a start up blog and by his boy-genius-ness alone make it something….I’ll have to go back and re-read it to make sure I know just what, but something spectacular and prove that Entrecard isn’t just a drop-and-go phenomenon.
I think I know already, but OK - show me how……I’m all eyes.
Oh DARN! You have to write something that’s emotionally compelling. Crap….left out again! Will somebody please stumble this anyway???
Thanks!

What I like are the ones that start out in english then halfway through the post they will have some one call or receive a text message and they are off into a totally different language…
What the hell? Suddenly we are supposed to get our pocket translator out and figure out what is what?
Strange ideas floating around the Internet.

Also, if one is to Buzz an article, said article needs a title longer than 9 characters. I also don’t think they thought your title of No title was appropriate. Picky individuals, those Yahoo Buzzers.
Not that I buzzed your article or anything.

I totally agree with ya - nothing worse than one of those rambling posts about nothing…except maybe bloggers who don’t update for months but keep dropping cards so we can keep seeing that same, boring, rambling post over and over and over…

@Carole — boy are you so on target there! I have a set of folders for blogs that I drop on every day. When one of those gets into that “I just decided to quit blogging in the middle of a day and to he!! with all you a$$holes”, they get replaced by someone new. Of course THOSE blogs have to pass muster first — no “skip this” ad, no auto-playing music or ads and be something halfway interesting.
@Beamer — well you know a girl’s first time is special
I hope by now you KNOW what to use on your wife, but just in case, go find o romance novel and read the sex scenes. You’ll get a good idea. Ta dum dump back atcha

You know, I agree with everything you said; especially when I’m in a not-so-nice frame of mind, like today. You have to wait and wait and wait for all these ridiculous widgets to download from a thousand different places, wait more for unoptimized photos and outrageous images, and then wait more for the Entrecard widget to download and finally, finally say “Drop.” If there’s any hint of crap at all, I hit the STOP button as soon as I see “Drop” and hit it and move on to the next one.
I’m using my Favorites and the entrebar to get to everyone I want to see first, then I hit my Inbox for new droppers. In my better frame of mind, I’ll keep dropping until I’m satisfied that 1) this blog is improving and may warrant a spot in my regular drop list, or 2) next time I see that card, I’m going to pretend I didn’t see it.
I am not one to think that every post I write is going to interest someone. I try to write what I want to write, but within the interests of my readers nonetheless. I’m just not so good at it yet.
Oh, my favorite complaint — Whole posts of centered text. I won’t even try to read it.

I don’t know…at least I didn’t feel my time has been wasted. LOL

I agree - I much rather read an informative blog post every couple of days then read mind vomit every day. And don’t even get me started on the music-playing blogs…
