This photo was taken 5 years ago when Mom turned 80. It was the first time in over 30 years that all of us had been together at the same time in the same place. That’s me on the far right in the blue sweatshirt.
My two sisters are 8 and 10 years older than I — you can’t tell it can you? We’ve always been fortunate in our genetic propensity for nice skin and hair. I don’t think any of us ever needed to use a lot of acne treatments even while in the throes of teen angst. Yeah we had a pimple or two, but no real bad outbreaks like some teens suffer from.
Like all sisters, we had our days of infighting punctuated by days of loving. We still do even though we’re old enough to act like adults. It goes without saying that I would fight to the death if anyone hurt one of my sisters and they probably feel the same way about me.
We’re not immediate neighbors in terms of where we live although we’re within a 4 hour drive of each other. We mostly talk through Mom or keep up with each other through my blog and my nephew’s blog. It’s maybe not a perfect way of keeping up, but it’s working.
So now you’ve got a picture of me …. what’s that you say? I don’t look anything like you pictured me in your mind? Well, I’m not going to ask the obvious question here, so if you’re going to insult me, you’ll have to do it in a comment for all to see
