Golfers go through a LOT of golf balls! When Ken and I played with our two sons, we would some how manage to lose nearly a dozen golf balls in every round. Ok, I’ll admit that none of us had any kind of handicap, so that was the main contributing factor to all those lost balls, but we weren’t the only ones on the courses losing them, either.
We very often saw people “harvesting” the lost balls from the course’s ponds and lakes, then saw them being resold at flea markets and roadside yard sales in front of homes close to the course. Since that’s where we bought most of them in the first place, we just thought of it as recycling
