Writing SpiderIt’s been a quite weekend and now it’s almost over. Monday will bring the familiar routine of readying for work and the excitement of new projects, new customers and new challenges.

I spent Thursday and Friday in a class on Microsoft Sharepoint which is a content management system. My ultimate goal will be to build web pages where my techs can come for information such as schematics and manuals on the equipment they service as well as pages for my customers to see where their jobs are in queue; if there are issues such as back ordered parts and expected delivery dates. It’s a pretty ambitious project that will take some time for me to implement. I need one more class on Sharepoint — an advanced one to help me connect my production database with the Sharepoint database.

Wednesday we’ll be leaving for Atlanta and a rather large specialty show that’s being held there.  There are over 150 Whippets entered each day at this 4 day show. It’s going to be quite a big deal if Ken and Tigger can win one of the days. Keep your fingers crossed for them!

My dear friend is going to show Tara and Star in advanced Rally there on Friday. I’m so excited for her! Right now she’s nervous as a cat, but by the day of the show I’m sure she will be just fine. Whippets dont’ have the reputation for being top notch obedience dogs, but both of these girls work hard for their mama and I know that no matter if they win or lose, they will go home well loved and cared for which is all that ultimately matters.

We will be taking Ms. Nikki along with Max and Minnie to get some socialization exercises done and to get them used to the routine that being in the camper at a show brings with it. That will be my main task as I didn’t enter a dog in these shows. Butterfly will get her chance at the ribbons the following weekend in Columbia and again on October 3rd in Augusta, GA.

My kennel club is sponsoring Responsible Dog Owners day on the 28th, so when I get through in Columbia, I’ll need to rush back to Greenville to do my part in that.

So, I have a busy couple of weeks coming up and with being out of town most of next week, this blog will be a tiny bit neglected.

My plans are to have some posts in reserve so it doesn’t get any cobwebs on it before I get back.
