Well, the fish ARE jumping, but the cotton isn’t high yet. Now the grass, that’s another story entirely, but I don’t think grass would have fit into the lyrics quite so well.
And I suppose a lot of us will say that the living isn’t so easy in today’s economy.
C’mon though…it’s SUMMER — at least in the northern hemisphere. It’s time for vacations and lounging on the beach and getting tan and sweating..you know!
This weekend is a long weekend for US citizens. It’s Memorial Day weekend which will be punctuated with a few parades and festivals to honor those who served in the Military. I’m not sure if everyone realizes that’s what the holiday is supposed to be about. Most just look on it as a long weekend and a respite from the daily grind of going to work.
Some people will take advantage of the holiday and go to the beach or camping, but with gas prices on the rise, I think Ken and I will just stay home and do some much needed chores around the house. Most notably that grass cutting! But we also need to clean our outdoor furniture as well as pressure wash the awnings and weed the garden in order to make ready for the company we’re expecting next month.
I really want to put in a stone walkway between the house and the kennel building, but that might be a bigger project than we really want to tackle this weekend.
