Mother’s Day Just Around the Corner!

I’ve been seeing all the signs of it — spring, flowers blooming, ads in the paper and posts on people’s blogs — even one blog totally devoted to Mother’s Day gifts. So, I guess it’s time  I started thinking about Mother’s Day and what to get my mom and what to tell Ken to get me (he’ll ask — he never has any clue).

Mom will just want a card, but I already know that I’m going to order her a fruit basket. She makes herself these fruit drinks and is always complaining about the high cost of fruit and often forgoes some of her favorites because they’re expensive, so I’ll make up a basket of her favorite fruits and either take them to her or ship them. She’ll like that a lot.

image For myself, well. We have 6 grandchildren. Some years ago, Ken bought me a mother’s ring, but it’s only got 3 stones in it, so isn’t representative of all the  grand-kids. I’ve found a website that has some really pretty rings and thought this one was really neat since it includes the names of the kids as well as their birthstone. I have a second motive in wanting that particular ring — that’s that this ring would help me remember when their birthdays are fingerscrossed — something I have difficulty with.

Lifetimemothers.com has a nice selection of rings, pendants, bracelets, watches and pins — all set in either 14K white or yellow gold and they also have some available in platinum — for Mother’s Day, birthdays or just any gift-giving occasion.  Almost too many choices, but if you really get confused, you can always give a gift certificate to the site.

Speaking of web sites, this one easy enough for even my computer challenged husband to find his way around on and ordering the products appears to be pretty simple and straightforward. They give free ground shipping in the Continental US and offer express shipping (for a fee) as well. If you want your item to ship directly to the recipient, they can do that and will package it in a white box with lavender tulle bow inside a padded pouch so it’s pretty and fresh when it arrives.

So now you know what I’m suggesting to Ken for me for Mother’s day. What are you going to suggest (or hint) to your husband?
