No, not the earth (sorry honey) — no earthquakes were felt.
What I’m talking about is the needle on the scale!
Yep — finally seeing some weiight change to go along with the toning! Not a lot of weight, but enough to know I’m doing the right things. Clothes are starting to be loose and Some things just don’t fit at all! (Catalog shopping here I come!)
It seems like the body part that’s holding out the longest is thighs. Of course, I’ve had thunder thighs for so long now, they’ll have to do a really significant amount of shrinking to feel smaller. The next worst hold out area is my stomach. I still have a rather prominent pooch there. Guess it’s time to ramp up the abdominal exercises some.
I know working my thighs more will help them — my issue there is the best overall exercise for them are squats, but the arthritis in my knees prevent me from doing very many of those. I hate to be a whiner, but by golly it HURTS when I do them! Oh well, I know it will come with time and determination and as I lose weight, maybe it won’t hurt so bad to do squats, so I’ll just have to keep trying to do them.
I hope your weight loss/fitness program is working as well as mine is (or better!).
Oh — my starting weight was 258 lbs and I’m down to 241.5 — if you’re keeping track that is. My ideal weight would be 130, but I’m going to rejoice if I make it to 160. They say if you set your goals to levels that can be reached with a moderate amount of work, that you’ll be more successful. I don’t know how moderate the amount of work I’ll need to do to get there, but I’ve set it, so we’ll just have to hide and watch.

I lost alot of weight once . But the speed with which it came back on was disheartening. I am not a fat person anyway so i gave up the dieting a while ago. all the best with yours!
Congrats on moving that needle!!!!!
And thanks for entering my giveaway contest, too!
@Alfred — yes, I’ve done the yo-yo with the weight, too and it is discouraging. The main difference for me this time is that I’m including exercise as a major part of the whole picture where before I was relying totally on diet. I think that as long as I include the exercise, I’ll be able to maintain the weight loss.
@LuckyGirl — Thanks! If I win, it will be like a reward for sticking to the diet/exercise program –(hint, hint).
