I’m just thrilled beyond words!! I got an award!!
My company gave me one of these really pretty engraved plaques for making them an MVP with one of the companies we service. I thought that was a really nice way to recognize my efforts and totally came out of the blue today.
They embarrassed the daylights out of me, calling me into this meeting where all the area offices were conference called in — I thought they wanted me to produce some kind of whoopdy do report (which is my job after all) and then the CFO led into the award with this story (he’s always telling stories) of how hard we’ve struggled with this particular customer who’s our largest and therefore most important customer and how I’ve worked and worked to get the data they need to satisfy this customer’s never ending thirst for data and then he pulled this glass plaque out that said "In Honor of Your Achievements in Helping us to Meet our Goals" and has my name and the date on it.
I got right teary eyed.
Now I have my fingers crossed that a nice pay raise will follow soon (but am not holding my breath)
