In reading some of my favorite blogs this week, there has been a definite trend in subject matter. I apparently did not get the e-mail about the subjects we were to blog on this week as I have totally missed out on it.

Just where were those other blogs, you ask?

Monkey Fables and Tales started us off, then Ettarose chimed in with Mama Flo following closely. Even Kathy over at the Junk Drawer couldn’t resist a boob post.

Just to prove the I can blog with the big boys, here’s my post…..

Man BoobsSubject number one was “chest area” related. You could blog about your acquaintance’s boobs, your boobs, your co-workers boobs; man boobs were not exempt either. While I’ve talked about my boobs in other posts, I think man boobs have been sadly neglected since they were only given a mention by a couple of bloggers. It seems unfair somehow and now that we are trying to be more equality minded as Americans, I thought I needed to give man boobs more “discovery time”.

I found it all too easy to find photographs using the search term “man boobs”, so it clearly IS a subject that is of interest and concern to people. I saw photographs of men with children suckling their boobs — clearly fake (the photos, not the boobs), photos of handsome men with man boobs and way too many photos of men who were grossly overweight and showing too much nakedness for my taste along with photos of men in bras — those looked real and necessary even (the photos, not the boobs). Which is a nice way for me to segue into my next paragraph…

Man's BraMen, if you are in possession of man boobs, don’t be embarrassed! It’s a natural part of aging and while none of us WANT half the stuff we’re saddled with as we age, we might as well make the best of it. That being said, if you think WOMEN need to wear bras at all times to support their sagging mammary glands, then perhaps you should consider the same for yourself. Supporting saggy body parts is sometimes necessary for more than just esthetics, you know. And while I’ll be the first to admit that I have yet to find a truly comfortable bra for myself, I’m convinced that it’s just a matter of doing more shopping on my part.

I think there is a definite potential for a fashion trend in the making here. The few man bras I saw were not chic. They were parodies of what could become a tasteful article of clothing for the discerning gentleman of fashion.

I can see the GQ ads now depitcting a sexy man in a bra and tidy whities, can’t you?

and what aif its not a natural aging process but something that has been embarrassing you from your very childhood?

  2. ê¿ê says:

@Aseem — I’m sorry that you are embarrassed by your body. Over time, I’ve learned to accept my body as it is. When I made the decision to love myself, a huge burden was lifted and I was able to begin this long course of self improvement. I hope that you can find that middle ground with yourself someday very soon. It’s a good place to be. Perhaps Debbie over at Wisdom Hypnosis could help you.

You know what is really funny, I know a few boobs that are flat chested, they are just boobs.

@Beamer — I saw your post in the forum, but haven’t read you site. I’ll have to go check.

@melody — I just see man-bras as a fashion trend. I mean they make pantyhose for men, so why not bras?

@fools — yeah there are boobs and then there are boobies.
