Some of you have remarked on the photo in the last post — it was taken on board the cruise liner we took on our 20th Anniversary to the Bahamas.

That was my first time out of the United States as well as my first time on a ship. I’d been on small boats before, but nothing the size of that behemoth! There were some 25,000 5,000 (so hubby gently corrected me) people on that ship and although there were some spots that were crowded such as the pool, for the most part, you never saw very many people congregated in one large group anywhere. I suppose it all had to do with the layout of the ship and the way they managed dinner seatings. I suppose that’s why they call them floating cities.

Our next trip was to Cozumel although it wasn’t exactly an anniversary trip — we couldn’t take it in March, so delayed it until September. The flight over was smooth and uneventful and while we were there we didn’t do much besides walk all over the town and look in the shops. We got a massage and chiropractic adjustment (the bed in our hotel was hard as a rock!) Saw the dolphins get put in the pool as the island buckled down for the approaching hurricane (Ivan). I do wish we could have explored the ruins that were inland. But with the hurricane fast approaching and all flights off island canceled, we were pretty much stuck! We ended up staying an extra day and then spending most of the rest of the next day trying to get back to the states. That trip was certainly memorable, but not the kind of “happy memories” you associate with a romantic get-away.

Perhaps one of these days we can go to Peru to experience the Machu Picchu travel experience. Machu Picchu travel video as it looks really interesting!

Last year, for our 25th anniversary we went to Las Vegas. I wrote blog posts every day we were there as well as posted a video of the fountain at Bellagio. Vegas was nice and we did a lot there — saw two shows and gambled (of course!), went to the Grand Canyon and to the Hoover Dam. It was nice seeing all those places and maybe one day we will go back.

We’re talking about going to England for our 30th anniversary. Crufts is usually going on about then and I would love to see it just once. Well who am I kidding? I’ve wanted to go to England and Europe since I was a kid. By then we’ll be retirement age and can spend more time than a week (if finances allow!). So we have something to dream about, save for and plan for.
