Animal Whisperings

Daft — I know — simply daft — animals can’t talk, but that doesn’t stop me from having several favorite blogs that are authored by — you guessed it — animals!

I try really hard not to miss a Sunday at Daisy’s — her comics are better than any in the newspaper! And Harley is getting handsomer by the day. I’m so glad Daisy’s Mom decided to adopt him.

Being the horse lover that I am, Cactus Jack Splash is one of my favorite sites authored by a horse — Cactus Jack is such a card! Yesterday he got to play with Tweety Bird and a Tiger! OH MY!

Although not authored BY a horse, Behind the Bit talks about horses a lot — I never go away from there disappointed even when all she talks about are her purple Dansko clogs. There’s another Harley here and what a handsome dude he is! And smarts seem to go with these guys named Harley, doesn’t it?

Then there is the lovely Sadie from the Beaded Tail. Her tail would look awesome in dreds, don’t you think? It’s such a nice, fluffy tail.

How about visiting these notable blogs and see for yourself that Animals CAN talk!

I have just started work on a website that features yet another talking animal. This time it is an Australian cattle dog that offers all sorts of tips and advice to his friends and their owners. I will ask my client to let you have the details of the site as soon as it is up and running.

Lyndi — that would be great! Thanks! I get a kick out of reading these blogs and wish I had the patience and talent to project my animals thoughts into blog posts. Daisy’s blog is the premier animal whispering blog IMO. Her personality just shines.

  2. Wowie! Thank you so much for your kind words. We work the hardest on our Sunday comics, so it makes me really happy that you enjoy them. We have visited the other animal blogs and like them a lot, too!

Daisy — the work you put into your Sunday Comics and Monday puzzles is quite apparent. Your blog always makes me smile.

  3. I don’t know… Who in their right mind would start an animal blog? I mean sure maybe the pics are cute but what else does this offer?

Nieruchomiosci, I think you will just have to go and read them to find out the appeal. As an animal lover and long-time trainer, I usually deplore the anthropomorphizing of animals as it makes people erroneously identify what their animal is doing because they base the action or reaction of the animal on their own logical process and emotions when animals generally aren’t operating on logic OR emotion, but on inbred reaction to a set of stimuli.

However, none of the blogs mentioned do much of that and do project the true reasons the animals act/react to certain situations. Horses especially have quite a lot of hard-wired behavior responses to stimuli. Cactus Jack’s owner’s work with him to desensitize him to those actions is very intuitive and shows a great understanding of how a horse’s mind works, it just presents it from the horse’s point of view which is what makes it so interesting.
