I’m a regular reader of Communication Exchange because, well, it’s about communicating which I do quite a bit of when you stop and think about it. At any rate, Patricia gave us a list of words the other day to figure out how to use and I’ve tried to meet her challenge with the following:

Riding the sands in the clepsydra of life
is like being the chyme in a bottle
There are no chalazae to hold from strife
and our otiose ways do throttle

A boatswain is needed to guide the course
from syzygy to syzygy
Threading the interstices of remorse
from apogee to perigee

A sidereal nature not withstanding
our personality will always out
looking for the easy way can be demanding
but the hard way is hard without a doubt

Now go to Patricia’s website to see what all those funny looking words mean and tell me if I used them in a reasonable fashion in my poem

Yikes, just when I thought my English was improving. I checked up on some of the words but this is a bit high for me. Nice poem (I think, it does rhyme nicely) ;-)

While I am here please allow me to go off-topic just for a bit. I did not forget your blog review, last weekend was just a bit hectic for me. Your review will be published this weekend.

I am absolutely amazed that you created this gem of a poem from those totally disparate words! I hope you will not mind if I reprint your masterpiece on CE tomorrow! If you mind, just drop me a line, and I will not, but I hope you do as your poem is too lovely to be seen and read just once!

@Lyndi — I *DO* understand your time constraints, dear lady! Please don’t rush yourself over that triviality of a review. Little Maggie is MUCH more important!

@Patricia — you are more than welcome to reprint it — I’m actually quite flattered!
