Entrecard Pyramid Scheme
Posted By ê¿ê on March 15th, 2008
I was cruising around the web this morning, doing the first of my drops for the day on Entrecard sites, when I happened upon one that caught my eye.
This blogger was offering a deal whereby you would end up with 1000 Entrecards by following his “plan”. It was nothing more than a pyramid scheme where you send him, and x number of others on the list 100 Entrecards and the next in turn sends to the next lot. Well, to my way of thinking, you never end up with anything really except MAYBE your investment back. HE’s the one who ends up with the Entrecards laughing all the way to the bank as he sells them on the exchange for whatever they’re currently bringing (I’ve seen from $4/1000 up to $9/1000).
Then there was the other blogger who claims to have a system whereby he can get as many Entrecards as he wants to using his code. He’s offering that for sale, too.
It never ceases to amaze me that people scheme, lie and steal ANYTHING. If these people would put half that effort and ingenuity into something legitimate, they might actually be rich by now.
Hopefully no one gets taken in by either scheme, but inevitably there will be some greedy, stupid ones who do. Then when they realize their folly, they will go crying and holding out their hands to the Entrecard Admins because they were cheated. I hope Graham and Phirate tell them “too bad, so sad — if you hadn’t been a lazy greedy good-for-nothing you wouldn’t be crying now.”

I agree. If people just put that effort and ingenuity into something better. Like quality blogging for instance!

You know, strangely enough, I actually wondered how long it would take before someone came up with a pyramid scheme to get more credits. Especially when people started selling credits and swapping them for merchandise. Something told me it was only a matter of time.

Alright, I have a deal for you. You give me 1000 of your entrecard credits, and I’ll invest them for you - 3 months later, badda bing badda boom - you got a cool mill…it’s a win-win, so, whatcha say?…

Yanno, it’s just not that hard to peruse and drop cards the old fashioned way. It’s a shame there are so many scheming snakes and gullible people out there.

What rubbish, the trouble is you see so many schemes when you’re dropping. I can’t believe people spend so much time worrying about gaming the system. Just drop your cards already!

Well done on raising this topic. I guess like with anything, Entrecard is going to attract both genuine and non-genuine people and we all need to look out for one another. I hope people don’t go for these types of schemes. There are so many wonderful and generous Entrecarders out there who are giving away credits in competitions and giveaways that if people want a “leg up” there are much better ways to find one. It’s a shame that a few try and ruin it for the rest of us.
