My Life is Now Online!

It got to thinking yesterday (I know — dangerous ground there — wear protective clothing as something might blow up) about just how many hours I spend online doing SOMETHING.

Ken’s got a bee in his bonnet about cars again. He wants to sell the Venture which has 146K miles on it and get a economical on gas car. Since I have the Caravan, we don’t actually NEED two vans and his diesel truck is just way too expensive to use as a commuter vehicle.

Anyway, to get back to online stuff, I (being the designated computer jockey) had to go online yesterday and research the value of the van, look for used cars with decent gas mileage in our area and hit up some online auto insurance sites for rates just to make sure our current insurance company is still competitive (it is). Of course I then had to report all my findings to the Lord and Master, but since I had a meeting last night, couldn’t do it in person.

So, like any dutiful secretary, I prepared a report for him citing the blue-book value of the van (in excellent, good and fair conditions — I’m not good with determining those), and in each category as "private party", "trade in" and "wholesale", give him what we’re paying for insurance on the car now and what rates I found on line for it, along with rates for several models of cars we discussed would be suitable.

We didn’t get to talk much this morning before he left for work since he didn’t get me up when his alarm went off. He was sweet and let me sleep until he was ready to walk out the door, so that gave me an extra 45 minutes — guess he was suitably impressed and pleased with my efficiency smile_wink

In between all those queries and creating that nifty report, I managed to put in 8 hours at my real job (which is also done online!), drop 300 cards, participate in the Entrecard forum, feed, clean and give heartworm prevention to all the dogs, feed the birds, clean the kitchen, do 3 loads of laundry and clean myself up for the meeting. Not to shabby a day even if I do say so myself. Of course yesterday started at 4:00 am and ended around 11:30 PM, so it was a LONG day. I’m sure I’ll crash tonight.
