For nearly a year now, I’ve had the 3 boxes of Project Wonderful over there in my sidebar. I’ve earned $19.84 in that time. PW has never done that great for me. It must not do great for the people who advertised on it either since they have dwindled down to nothing these last couple of weeks. I’ve removed PW from the sidebar as having 3 eyes with hands crawling out of them was not very attractive. I haven’t canceled my account with PW, but am rethinking how to better utilize it. I may go to a single box instead of the 3 box tower. What do you think? Have you got any recommendations for me?

I will still limit the ads to only those reviewed and approved and no animation. Some people just go over the top with wriggling images that send my brain into overdrive. If I’m that affected by them, I’m certainly not going to subject you guys to something I can’t stand!

I enrolled in Adgitize in December and in that time I’m up to $2.41 — their payout amount is $10, so only 8 months to go for a possible payout there. I did move that ad up in the sidebar this morning, so perhaps it will get more clicks than it did when it was “below the fold”.

Google Adsense is not working at all for me. I’m up to $20.04 with that and still a long way away from that payout amount of $100! I’ve had Adsense on this site for two years now and recently installed a plugin to add the code to the bottom of my posts. Judging from the increase in clicks, I might as well have left it over in the sidebar with the rest of the ads. Should I remove the plugin? Do the ads at the bottom of the posts bug you?

I’ve given a try to a couple of other advertising schemes that haven’t paid off either. Some of them were just impossible to figure out how to best operate and I don’t even know if I ever earned anything on them at all.

I had OIO publishing affiliate code on here for awhile, then they must have discontinued the program because the image, etc went away and made my site load like molassess in winter, so I took that off.

The best advertising program to date has been CMF Ads. Because I’m also advertising on other sites, my exact “profit” isn’t immediately visible. I’m quite sure, however, that my return on investment in this service is excellent if not in terms of ready cash, at least in terms of my site making it’s way onto other sites across the net. I’m seeing new “faces” here in the comments (WELCOME!) and am looking forward to making more new friends.

No, my feeble attempts at advertising have not brought me enough ready cash to even buy so much as an IWC watch, but I’m going to keep trying because one of these days, I’ll have a check to show you like John Chow did years ago. I just know it….. 8-)

My results have been similar to yours. PW brings in more money than Adsense more regularly, but I really just use it to advertise on my blog.

I too have had issues with advertising. Adsense is really just a joke if you ask me, not sure about PW as I haven’t tried it, but I would say go with one bar as apposed to none.

As for Adgetize, I have it too, and it’s not too bad since you get paid just to have it on your site. If you want to make a bit more, click on some of the ads they have up. Its not like Adsense and won’t ban you for the clicking

Very interesting. I have never really monetized my blog. I do have two ads up from CMF but these I do not see as monetizing as yet. Right now these ads are paying for my own ads that I run on other sites and that, for now, is all I require.

I have noticed that more and more bloggers are adding ads to their blogs but only for certain people. I could now choose to monetize without sticking the ads in the faces of my regular visitors. Ads are shown to first timers coming in via the search engines but that is all. I am looking at this option and should I decide to monetize it would be something along these lines that I would go for.

Thanks, Izzy. I’ve read of a few people who have gotten an adsense check (Turnip of Power for one), but out of the many, MANY blogs that have it, very few report earning enough to get a check. Maybe they just don’t want to advertise they’re doing well, but I suspect the majority are like me and just waiting for the day.

As for clicking my own ads — well that just seems counterproductive to me. Yeah maybe I’ll get a bit of payout, but it won’t be long before it is banned by Adgitize and then I’ll be in trouble with them. Why kill off something that’s doing a bit of good?

Lyndi — CMF is bringing in visitors which is it’s greatest value to me. I invested a very small amount of money in purchasing advertising credits and those I’m just reinvesting into the system to keep ads going on other sites. I really like how easy it is to see how well my ads did or didn’t do as it helps me target where to “spend” my advertising dollars. Unlike Entrecard where you have to dig and dig and DIG to get that information, CMF is super advertiser friendly.

  5. PW gave me a few cents per day so I quickly took it out after several weeks of trying it. Thankfully I get around $1-$4 with AdSense a day, so I don’t need the ugly looking PW ad slots :D

Hi Michael! I didn’t mind the looks of the PW ads — they are no better or worse than the Entrecards, so other than animated ads, I was OK with them, but wish PW would let you have the same number of images as placeholders as you have ad boxes so it doesn’t look so patently bare when you don’t have any ads running. At least my earnings aren’t held hostage at PW like they are with Adsense — there if you quit and don’t have enough in the “bank”, Google just keeps it which I think sucks big time.

I also took out PW spots after advertisers ignored them for ages. I made about 20 dollars all told with PW, but don’t anticipate any more for now. I do have an adsense space in my sidebar but with their 100 payout level I honestly don’t expect to ever get any money from them, so they are a very low priority for me. CMFads is doing well for me in terms of producing visitors and some, though not all of the sites that advertise with me get a fair number of clicks in return. Thanks for an honest look at three networks.
