Boy all this housing market stuff is sure scary! They make it sound like it’s really going to hurt investments along with the people who took out those shady loans. The California mortgage refinance business alone was going big guns there for awhile! I know we got tons of spam mail along with phone calls and letters from everybody wanting us to refinance our house! While some of the offers were tempting, I’m sure glad now that we didn’t succumb to the lure of them. I hope your home is safe from those predators, too!

It’s getting close to being vacation time! Our luggage is starting to look a little shabby, so I have been looking at some new sets. I really like the versatility of the pieces I’m finding in the stores now. Most are soft-sided with sturdy zippers and lots of pockets and storage areas in them for your stuff. Some even come with how-to-pack suggestions which I’m sure come in handy for people. I know there are some tips in the brochure I read that I will use for my next trip (things like roll your clothes instead of folding them to reduce creasing). Now I just have to decide what color….

We have the coolest mailbox! Now, I know you probably could care less about mailboxes, but I just have to tell you about ours! It’s HUGE!
For example, I routinely get books sent through the mail to me and the box will accomodate most of them (coffee table books would be the exception). It has a door on both sides of the box, so I don’t have to step into the street to retrieve my mail. It’s plastic and of a non-color fading material, so, despite the fact that it’s been out at the edge of the road for 6 years now, it still looks brand new.
I have planted vines at the base of it, so during the spring and summer, it’s covered in lovely blooms and for the fall and winter, I have these covers I can put on it to go with the season. It has a holder on top for our address or name.
It’s truly a nice accent touch to our property!

I really do! Either that or my kitchen is in BAD need of some under cabinet lighting, because I just can’t read the directions on boxes and forget reading a recipe! I know I don’t need glasses, because in a well lit room, I have no trouble reading without glasses, seeing the television screen, and of course, since it’s my lifeblood, I have no trouble seeing the computer screen, either!
Just tonight I was trying to read the directions on a box of wild rice and had to take it to another room to read it! Guess my poor old kitchen needs a face lift.
