I’ve never been to the Virgin Islands although my son and daughter-in-law have. I believe its a beautiful place to visit. If I ever did go, I think getting one of those Virgin Island Yacht charters might be a lot of fun. It would definitely fit my idea of a fab vacation to be sailing on a beautiful sunny day being waited on by buff guys bringing me rum drinks with umbrellas in them. No smelly fishing either! Just rest and relaxation — maybe a little swimming or snorkeling, but that’s all

I come home from work nearly every night just dragging! It’s not that I do anything horribly strenuous at work all day, but just seem to be worn out when I get home. Some of this is due to the fact that I don’t do much strenuous exercise (as my scales will tell you!). I don’t know if an energy supplement would help me feel more perky or not. I’m not a big proponent of supplements and pills in general. I take nothing regularly and when called upon by the doctor to take something daily for 10 days find myself missing doses after the first few days. I know that’s not the right way to manage my health, but I’m  still kicking , so guess it’s not too bad for me.

We were taught in Scouts to be prepared for any eventuality. Real life has taught me that that is nearly impossible, but you can certainly be prepared for some of the more common eventualities such as a medical emergency. Your emergency kits do not need to be very elaborate. It can be as simple as band-aids, antibiotic cream, cotton swabs and alcohol, but every home and car should have something on hand. They don’t have to be limited to medical items, either, but for example in the car can include booster cables, a pint of power steering fluid (which can double as brake fluid) and a flashlight.

I’m kind of picky about my writing instruments. If I’m not typing on the keyboard, I really much prefer to use a pen over a pencil. I really like the new gel ink pens as the ink doesn’t smear easily and it also doesn’t seem to fade over time. Not to mention that you can get them in really cool colors with glitter and neon inks. Talk about making a statement! Write someone a letter in glitter hot pink! Sign your checks in neon green

That will confuse the check reading machines at the bank clearing house
